My name is Jeanne Rousch. I am an adjunct Professor at NSU and will be instructing Clinical Laboratory Administration—MDT 480. A little bit about me first—I have over 25 years of experience in the clinical laboratory (possibly more, but who is actually counting?!) and a Masters in Business Administration. I am ASCP certified with a specialty in Microbiology. This course will provide insight into the principles of laboratory operations. Subjects to be covered include management and human resource functions, leadership principles, financial management, compliance issues, education, information systems and clinical laboratory ethical issues. Also, we will be doing some career planning, such as resume building and cover letter writing practice which will help you when you are ready to start your job search. You will choose a clinical laboratory research topic and be guided through the steps necessary for creating a quality research paper. More on that later! Much of this course will be conducted on-line through Blackboard Course Management System. Any questions that you may have throughout the course, please post in the “Ask the Professor” section under the Conversations Tab. The question responses may help both you and your classmates. I am looking forward to meeting you all and having a fun and productive semester. So please introduce yourself to me and your fellow classmates under the Conversations Tab, “Introduce Yourself!” See you soon! Script for Studio Content 2.2C Jeanne Rousch
